Scar Treatments

If a scar is raised, itchy or pulls the skin down, it is the type of scar that decides the treatment, not a standard sequence. Scars differ in depth, texture, color and activity, and raised scars and tethered scars benefit from different procedural approaches.

Options include steroid injections into the scar (intralesional triamcinolone) for raised or active scars and subcision for tethered scars. Laser or other complementary treatment may be discussed when it addresses a different part of the scar.

Your consultation

A plan agreed before treatment.

  1. 01

We review how the scar formed, how it has changed and previous treatment.

  2. 02

Dr. Saadé uses the scar type, activity, depth and skin characteristics to decide between steroid injections (intralesional triamcinolone), subcision or another approach.

  3. 03

You receive a staged plan with realistic limits, aftercare and review timing.
