Cryotherapy & Electrosurgery

When a wart, a rough sun-damage patch or a small bump needs treating, freezing or a fine electric current is often enough. Cryotherapy and electrosurgery are clinic-based methods for superficial lesions; the choice depends on what the lesion is, where it sits, skin type and the balance between treatment and the expected healing response.

These approaches may be considered for warts, seborrheic keratoses, actinic keratoses, syringomas and sebaceous hyperplasia. Diagnosis is confirmed first, and staged treatment may be preferable in sensitive or visible areas.
